For those of you who don't know what Red Rocks is, you can see and read all about it here. It is such an amazing venue that I have wanted to go to for so long now and I am so excited Kevin & I chose that week to visit Denver so we can make it to the show. The Glitch Mob and Pretty Lights have also just recently scheduled shows there, as the date for Glitch Mob is July 2nd and Pretty Lights is August 12th. Pretty Lights played at Red Rocks on my birthday last year, August 7th, and I really wanted to go then but couldn't make it so I can't believe I will most likely be seeing them there a year later when I'm actually living right down the road! I also got invited to be an Ambassador again for the Red Rocks show, but since I'm going all the way out there just with Kevin I'm thinking about just sticking with him the whole night (aren't I a good girlfriend?) :-D but having the advantage over everyone else that I know the Bassnectar crew and will be "slightly VIP" as another ambassador put it. It's definitely a Bassnectar show you wouldn't want to miss if you have the chance to go to it.

Speaking of me being an Ambassador, I have a little story for you guys. I got the nicest message from someone I didn't know on Facebook today telling me that they were looking up stuff for Ultra Music Festival and stumbled across my blog somewhere on the Internet. Not only did they tell me that they are also going to Ultra and that they were at Basscenter 2, but they were very complementary of my blog (and gave props to me for being a part of the octopus and dragon shenanigans at Basscenter 2). Then tonight at the bar (yes I said bar but I'm actually sober right now) someone told me that a friend of mine always shows them my blog and that they think it is the "coolest thing ever". To those two people today, to other people that have told me this, and to people that think this as well - thank you SO much! You make my day and I can't tell you how much it means to me when someone tells me this. You are why I keep writing!-------------
Now back to some music talk! In my last blog post I told you guys I was going to the Bahamas and that I probably wouldn't engage in any musical escapades that week. Well whatdya know. I fly into Charlotte, NC and find out my younger sister can get Kevin & I in free at the Rebelution concert in town. Of course we went, and got to hang out on the tour bus too! My younger sister Jaclyn went to Lollapalooza back in August (following in my footsteps;)) and met the guys of Rebelution there, so when they came to NC they hooked her and her friends up with free tickets to the show. It was a great concert, and I really liked this song called "Lazy Afternoon". Another song that I have always really liked of Rebelution's is "Safe and Sound". Marley, the lead bass guitarist is who I should give thanks to for letting us all in free, and this picture below is my sister & me with him on their bus.Marley Williams from Rebelution |
Goodnight!!!
